Performance group information

from the website and sending it to the address on the form by 1 August 2011.

Entry to the performance group is by audition only. Auditions are
usually held once each year. The auditions take place over two days. One is in the form of
a 2 hour workshop exploring improvisation, dance and singing and the second requires an own choice musical theatre song and a piece of drama which is given out at the workshop.
No backing tracks allowed please provide your own sheet music.

This group is for young people aged between 13 and 19. It concentrates
on performances of musical theatre songs and shows which encompass
singing, dancing and drama with singing being the most important of the
three.

The group meets for approximately 40 weeks a year on a Thursday
evening at the Craig Y Don Sports and Community Centre. The times
are 7pm until 9.15pm. Sundays are also used for no more than 20
weeks of the year depending on performances. This is usually from 2pm
or 3pm for three to four hours.

The fees payable are £120 per year and members are expected to
provide their own dance footwear and the girls their own dance tights.
